SEVERELY INJURED WORKER IN FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA RECEIVES LUMP SUM SETTLEMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,250,000

On November 25, 2011, claimant, a sheet metal mechanic, fell from a roof while in the course of his employment. As a result, claimant suffered traumatic brain injury, among other things, and has need of several medications, sees multiple physicians and requires attendant care. The claimant engaged our firm to protect his rights and obtain approval of the treatment needed for his many injuries.

Once the claimant reached a medical plateau, the parties engaged in settlement discussions. Prior to settlement, the employer and its workers’ compensation carrier spent in excess of $800,000 on treatment and wages on behalf of the claimant. The amount of the settlement compromises all future claims for medical treatment and wages based on the likelihood that claimant is permanently and totally disabled and, therefore, unable to return to any gainful employment.
